Investing in human capital

As much as the world around us relies on modernisation, digitalisation, innovation and competitiveness, none of it would be possible, nor relevant, without people.

It is the entrepreneurs, the innovators, the risk-takers and the believers that drive Europe’s success. Human capital is Europe’s greatest resource.

We want to tackle the myth that an enterprise can either be socially responsible or profitable. In a future-focussed world it can – and must – be both.

This is why we promote employment and social inclusion via our EaSI programme which, as of end 2020, had benefitted more than 100,000 micro and social entrepreneurs in 30 countries.

This is why we launched our Skills & Education pilot, projected to make over EUR 200m available across Europe, to help recalibrate the workforce & respond to the European economy’s changing skillset needs.

This is why we foster creativity and the preservation of culture via our CCS programme which has supported 3,700 companies in areas such as film production and literature.

This is why we seek to empower the marginalized via our Payment-by-Results scheme which has helped over 1,000 migrants integrate and re-enter the workforce.

This is why we have worked to reward those that give back to society.
