InvestEU climate & environmental products
R&D, demonstration, upscaling and commercialisation of technologies or solutions contributing to the EU Green Deal and the energy and ecological transitions in the areas of climate mitigation and resilience, mobility and transport, urban and built environment, water and marine resources, pollution, circular economy, agri-food system and biodiversity and environmental ecosystems.
EQUITY
REPowerEU+ with Risk Capital Resources into VC & PE funds
Sectors include solar photovoltaic and solar thermal technologies, onshore and offshore wind, battery and storage, heat pumps and geothermal technologies, electrolysers and fuel cells, sustainable biogas, carbon capture and storage, and grid technologies. Also eligible are investments related to the extraction, processing and recycling of related critical raw materials.
INFRASTRUCTURE
InvestEU climate & infrastructure funds
Investments supporting high priority thematic strategies, including a primary focus on climate action & environmental sustainability. Targeting among others a 70% climate and environment content at portfolio level, the underlying investments are expected to be a substantial contributor to the ambitious targets set out in the EIB Group Climate Bank Roadmap.
GUARANTEES
InvestEU sustainability guarantee
The InvestEU sustainability guarantee focuses on enhancing access to debt finance for SMEs, Small Mid-Caps, natural persons and housing associations whose investments contribute to the green and sustainable transformation of the European economy.
SECURITISATION
Green securitisation
Securitisation transactions generating new financing, with circa half of it being green financing, exemplifying how securitisation can support the green transition by applying the “use of proceeds approach”.
